These statues are called Jizo. They are the guardians of children. You can see them in lots of places. These Jizo were on top of Mt Zao. There was still snow on the mountain but they have their red aprons and cap to keep them warm!
This beautiful view is from Yamadera, high in the mountains of northern Honshu. I had to climb 1,015 steps to get here but the view was fantastic.
